Marylin's Homemade Amaretto Liqueur

I like to make my own liqueurs and this is a really good one for Amaretto. Not to mention its a very thrifty way to stock up, especially if you enjoy after-dinner apertifs or use it in recipes.
Combine sugar and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Cool and add the remaining ingredients. Store in bottles.

This has an excellent taste. You don't have to buy expensive Vodka or Brandy; the lesser priced ones work just as well.
