Arctic/Yukon Timing Map
The northern interior, arctic and west coast regions of Alaska are very primitive. Few roads exist to provide access to this area so the wilderness experience will be as Alaskan as you can get.

The fisheries present in this region are generally accessed via bush plane, either on floats or wheels. There is a wide diversity of species and with little or no fishing pressure, true trophies are often caught. This region is also a dream-come-true for the flyfishing purist. Most fish have never seen an artificial presented to them.

There are a few remote wilderness lodges that offer package deals for vacationing in this area. These usually include air transportation from a nearby major community, lodging, meals and a variety of fishing opportunities each day either by boat, floatplane or just outside the lodge door.

For more details on the communities, access, angling opportunities, services and who to contact, you can refer to our Region & Communities information for the Arctic-Yukon-Kuskokwim-Tanana area. Be sure to use your BACK button after reading the information or you will end up navigating the other section.
