Northern Southeast Timing Map

The northern section of Southeast Alaska has a charm of its own. Here is where the rich history of the Klondike Gold Rush started. The beautiful scenery coupled with a wide variety of fishing opportunities has many anglers returning again.

This table indicates when sport fish are present (green line) or at their peak availability (red line) in fresh & salt water in the area of coastal Alaska which stretches from Cape Suckling, east of Cordova, to Fredrick Sound, at the southern end of Baranof Island. Communities in the area include Yakutat, Juneau, Haines, Skagway, and Sitka.

For more details on the communities, access, angling opportunities, services and who to contact, you can refer to our Region & Communities information for the Southeast Alaska area. Be sure to use your BACK button after reading the information or you will end up navigating the other section.
