Tanana Valley Timing Map
The Tanana Region lies in the heart of Alaska's interior and has a well-defined road system for accessing a great majority of this area. The Alcan Highway passes through this region on its way to Fairbanks, the largest community in the area.

Fisheries in this area can be accessed right next to the road, by bush plane and by boat. Much of the fishing is associated with the major rivers and their tributaries in the region; the Yukon, the Tanana and Kuskokwim.

The communities of Tok, Delta Junction and Fairbanks have local services providing access to many remote regions. Wilderness lodges are also in this area providing packaged vacation plans.

For more details on the communities, access, angling opportunities, services and who to contact, you can refer to our Region & Communities information for the Arctic-Yukon-Kuskokwim-Tanana area. Be sure to use your BACK button after reading the information or you will end up navigating the other section.
