Chart Note: The Kenai River July Sockeye Salmon Run is managed to provide harvest for commercial fishermen, personal use dip net Resident anglers, and inriver sport fishermen. The river is quite productive and often has runs from a half million to over one million sockeye. A large number of locations all along the river system provide ample places for anglers to fish for reds. This includes state, borough and city properties as well as a number of private campgrounds. An area map identifies most of these locations and can be purchased through AOJ or in local stores and businesses around Anchorage and the Kenai Peninsula. In addition, the Southcentral Sportfishing Regulations booklet has a map and listing of most public access areas along the Kenai River that provide exceptional fishing opportunities for reds too.
